Miguel Bonal, awarded in the First Palau 2021

The viol player Miguel Bonal was awarded the Catalunya Música Prize, given by the radio station for the eighth consecutive year, which consists of the recording of a professional recording with a repertoire chosen by the artist, and the international promotion through the European Broadcasting Union network.

This was the first time that a viol player had taken part in the First Palau Competition. The jury valued his participation very positively because "it contributes to the diversification of the artistic proposal of the cycle and also to the consolidation and generational continuity of an instrument that has in the figure of Jordi Savall an international icon".

Apart from a Accesit prize and the prize awarded by Catalunya Música, Miguel Bonal also won the Critics' Prize.
